Animal Communication for Pet Loss: Questions to Ask Your Pet in Spirit

In this post, I am sharing what animal communication for pet loss is like, how pets communicate after passing, and ten meaningful questions to ask your pet during an in-spirit animal communication session.

Dear Intuitive one,

There is a particularly complicated mix of emotions that surface with animal loss, and it can be nothing short of overwhelming. The love you shared was profound, timeless, and woven into the fabric of your life (and still is in so many ways). But now, suddenly, the house feels too empty. Eerily still. They feel too far away. Every bone in your body feels uneasy.

Even if their passing was peaceful, even if you know they are no longer in pain, even if you are sure they were ready, feeling unsettled and like life can’t go on as normal is to be expected.

The questions that come up after pet loss

And then come the big questions that clog up your normally crystal-clear intuitive senses…

Are they okay? Are they safe? Did we do the right thing? Do they still know how much we love them?

Thoughts flood in, filling the space where their presence used to be. Sometimes, they even tap on the darkest corners of grief, whispering doubts—Did I wait too long? Should I have given them just a little more time? Is my pet mad at me for putting them down?

You have poured so much care into your pet’s well-being, and when all that energy suddenly has nowhere to go, it shifts and starts searching for understanding, as you try to make sense of this new reality,

A new reality where it feels like a piece of your heart is missing.

What is in-spirit animal communication like?

The love between you and your animal friend is a forever kind of love—timeless and still within reach. In-spirit animal communication offers an intuitive, soulful way to reconnect with your pet one more time to give you the chance to check in with them and make sure they are okay.

The process of intuitively communicating with pets after they have passed is the same as talking with pets who are alive, but with a few minor differences in what your pet will most likely want to talk with you about.

In my experience, intuitively talking with pets is that after pets pass, some want to talk about the process of dying, and some don’t. Often, those who don’t want to talk about their passing instead focus on sharing details of their life that they are missing, including giving advice for other members of the family or animal friends they left behind. And many share how they are feeling - on the other side and try to reassure their person that they are okay.

10 profound questions to ask your in-spirit pet

  1. How are you? Are you okay?

  2. What is your biggest takeaway from your life with me?

  3. What do you want me to know about what it was like to live with me?

  4. Is there anything you want me to know about your passing?

  5. What do you feel I can do to support the other animals in our home after your passing?

  6. What do you feel your life’s purpose was, and did you accomplish it?

  7. What do you miss most about your life with me?

  8. Do you have any advice for me for my life going forward?

  9. How will you try to get my attention when you come and visit me?

  10. Can you tell me about what it is like where you are now?

“I had an incredible session with Joanna shortly after the passing of my soul dog. I had never worked with an animal communicator before and Joanna absolutely blew any expectations I may have had out of the water.”
