What is your pet’s intuitive communication style?
When you're trying to intuitively tune in with your pet for the first time, even as sensitive as you are, it's pretty normal for it to feel like trying to take down a piñata in the dark with a toothpick.
It helps to know the ways they *might* be trying to get messages across, but there are a lot of them. Here are a few common ones to get you started.
Dear Intuitive One,
When I connect with several pets in the same household in one session, it always amazes me to sense the profound differences in each animal’s intuitive communication style.
The first pet might be an old Soul, a BIG picture thinker who communicates by sharing sensory-rich, textured emotions and physical sensations, as they simultaneously share how they see the universe, time, source, and everything in between.
Then the second pet may relay everything with a lightning-fast knowing, like an information pod that crashes into my intuitive field, that contains everything they want their person to know in a very “Just the facts, ma'am” kind of way, before their attention dashes off to focus on something else.
And then the third pet might present as a shy or hesitant communicator. Who, as a result of early life trauma, needs to take their time sharing tiny bits of information at a time and then pulling back to make sure they are safe before sharing anything more.
My dog friend, Whiskey, is a soulful, wispy, intuitive communicator. She loves to talk about her heartfelt observations and wisdom about how she sees and experiences the world and those she loves.
Common intuitive animal communication styles
When you're trying to sense your animal's intuitive voice for the first time, it's pretty normal (at least at first) for it to feel like you are scrambling in the dark for a light switch, without any idea which wall it may be on. But knowing the ways your pet may be trying to relay messages to you can add a little soft glow of a nightlight to light your path towards your pet’s intuitive signals.
In my experience as an animal communicator, however, there are SO many different kinds of intuitive animal communication styles, and many pets use several styles at once.
Here are a few common communication styles to get you started…
12 Intuitive animal communication styles your animals may be using to get their message across
When intuitively communicating, animals emanate, send, and share intuitive information by mixing and matching one or more of the following:
Verbal (words)
Images and Pictures - of what and how they see their world
Image and pictures - as symbols
Emotions
Mirroring (including: emotions, physical feelings, thoughts, words, or ideas that they are picking up from you)
Physical feelings in their body (that they show you in your body, with consent)
Tastes and fragrances (from their perspective!)
The felt sense of textures
Energy vibes (think the felt sense of good or funky juju)
Flash knowing (like a lightning-fast download)
Somatic and interoception information (what they sense inside their body)
Proprioception (what they sense outside their body)
And this is just the short list!
I would call my cat friend Miss Kitty a direct-AF communicator who confidently meets my energetic edges with words (including swear words) and clear vibes, all of which are rich in texture and strong emotions. Girl does not mince words. ;)
How to understand your pet’s intuitive communication styles
To learn how to sense your pet’s intuitive voice, I recommend starting by unplugging and just hanging out with them and sensing the energy of their presence. This will help you learn to feel the difference between your energy and theirs. As a bonus, when they are trying to get your attention, it will be easier for you to recognize that the feeling, image, memory, or sensation that you just felt is them, and not your own thoughts or worry.
I’d love to share an animal communication practice that will help you intuitively connect with your pet. It’s included in my Inner Circle guided meditation hub and you can access it and several other guided meditations by signing up for my newsletter below.
