Having the chance to connect with your animal friend after they pass can be exciting, but it can also create feelings of both joy and profound sadness.
I’d love to share a few tips to help you prepare for the experience so you can get the most from your session
Dear Intuitive One,
In-spirit animal communication sessions give you the chance to hear from your pet’s spirit after they have passed.
Sessions can help you make sure they are okay, hear about their big takeaways from their life, and unpack the feelings you both share about having to say goodbye. This is big sacred work, and big emotions can come up before and during your session.
Here are 6 tips to help you feel safe and comfortable during your session…
6 tips to prepare for your in-spirit animal communication session
1. Choose a quiet, cozy place for our call
Time to communicate with your in-spirit animal friend is so special and sacred. When choosing where to be, I encourage you to find a quiet place without distractions, free of TV, radio, and away from any noisy family members (or other high-need pets)
Choose somewhere you will feel comfortable and at ease. Things like driving or multitasking will take away from your experience and create distractions, making it difficult for me to communicate clearly with your pet.
2. Have comforting things nearby
Have a few comfy things on hand to support your experience in the session. A few ideas are:
Something nurturing to sip (things like hot or iced tea can help you stay present and in the now)
Tissues (if tears flow, you’ll want to have these on hand)
A cozy throw or blanket (just to wrap yourself up in case you are craving that level of support)
A journal and pen (to jot down things that you’ll want to remember)
Any other comfort measures that you’d like to have around you (this session is about helping you connect with your pet, but it is also about you and your comfort. If you show up to your session in cozy flannel pj’s, that’s totally okay.)
3. Have your questions ready
Hearing from your in-spirit pet can be so heartwarming. And it can be easy to forget important questions that you want to ask your pet. I encourage you to give yourself plenty of time before your session to write down your questions in order of importance.
Rather than having a long list of yes-or-no questions (which will only give you yes or no responses), I encourage you to ask open-ended questions like:
How they felt about their life with you
What kind of soulful things they learned during their life
What guidance they have for you or your living pets
How they may try to get your attention when they visit you
What their experience is of the afterlife and if there is any support they need
What they feel is next for them in this next chapter of their existence
A note about questions: As you're getting your questions ready, keep in mind that your in-spirit pet may or may not want to talk about certain aspects of their life. That’s okay, and it doesn’t mean our connection with them isn’t strong. Some beings detach pretty quickly from the everyday details of their physical life after passing. If your pet doesn’t want to talk about something, we can adjust our conversation.
4. Taking notes and session recording
If you’d like to record your session, please choose a Zoom call and let me know at the start of your session, so I can record the session for you.
Please note, I don’t consent to voice or video recordings of sessions using your own device, including your phone.
If you don’t want a recording, I encourage you to have a notepad and pen ready to take notes of the important, life-changing, and wise things your animal friend wants to share. Most pets have insightful things to share about their life with you.
5. Tech Prep
Choose the session format you are most comfortable with. If Zoom never works quite right for you, and you are in the USA, let’s meet over the phone instead. Speakerphone or earbuds are best so you don’t have to hold the phone to your ear for the whole hour.
If Zoom is comfortable for you, be sure to close all other tabs on your computer when you log in for our meeting. And turn your phone off! The last thing you want is for your attention to be drawn away from the big soul wisdom your pet is sharing by a notification chime from the office.
If you are joining a Zoom session on your phone, please find a way to prop up your phone, rather than holding it, so there is minimal movement of your phone. Too much movement can create a ton of visual distraction and make it challenging to tune in with your pets.
6. Lastly, give yourself a few minutes to ground and prepare
When you have everything all set, and you’re getting ready for your call, give yourself a few moments to set your intention for the session.
Perhaps light a candle, or if candles are not your thing, or if you have living cats in your home, hold one of their collars, leash, or a favorite toy for a few minutes. As you do, invite your pet to talk with us and let them know how much you’d like to reconnect with them.
A little about me
Hi, I’m Joanna. I’ve been practicing animal communication for more than 20 years, and it still fills my heart every time an animal shares something that helps their person understand them in a new way.
For me, this work is about deepening the connection between you and your pets by helping your pet feel heard and helping you understand your pets’ unique feelings, needs, and perspective on life and purpose.
