3 times you get Permission Slip to be Full of Yourself

What would happen if you had an official permission slip to be Full. Of. Yourself?

As in permission to fill your personal space FULL of YOUR OWN ENERGY? If you struggle not listening to that voice in the back of your head that tells you that you are not allowed to take up space in your body, life and relationships, stick around.

Today’s post is all about helping you feel more comfortable being full of yourself - in all the good ways so you feel more comfortable in your skin while giving your self-worth a loving boost.

Hello Dear Intuitive One,

Being Full. Of. Yourself…. as in ‘your personal space is FULL of YOU,’ can be an awesome feeling. Not in an overpowering gross way. Certainly not in the encroaching on the personal space of others kind of way…  but in fully inhabiting and owning your allotted 3-4 feet of personal space kind of way.

There’s an ownership of one’s self, a comfort in one’s skin and an ease of being that comes with it too.

But the ingrained conditioning that being full of yourself is the WORST thing you could possibly be runs deep, doesn’t it?

When we look through our intuitive goggles we can see how this shitty conditioning get’s tucked deep in our psyches, right next to ‘don't take up too much space’ that your mother taught you, and right along side of that self-esteem corrosive inner talk that says “don’t be  too loud, too sassy, too tall, too much, too sensitive, too big, too powerful, too smart, too needy, too emotional, too…”  (sigh)

There’s an image I’d love to share with you from my first book, “Energetic Boundaries 101” of what this shitty conditioning does to our energy when we aren’t full of ourselves.

Swiss Cheese Energy

I like to use the imagery of Swiss Cheese Energy to simplify the big complex things that occur when we aren’t FULL of ourselves and aren’t able to be present in our bodies.  Like those times when chronic stress has worn us down - or if we have been traumatized right out of the present moment. I believe that, despite it all, we are always whole (that’s whole with a W). But when we aren’t fully present, our energy body becomes holey. Which leads to foggy intuition, unintentionally picking up energy and emotions from others, and big feelings of overwhelm and burnout.

Rewiring yourself to look and feel more like Gouda than Swiss takes a ton of inner work- like the big empowering journeys I coach clients through in Soul Work sessions. Our work together helps them fill back up with clarity so they feel reconnected with their own center.

And if you are someone who received a ton of negative conditioning that told you that you were not, are not allowed to take up space, filling your self up with your own presence, also takes a ton of practice. Practice trying what works for you to feel safe in the now, comfortable in your skin and permission to take up space - so I’d love to give you an official permission slip (three to be exact) to be full of yourself and be more Gouda than Swiss in the following situations.

1. Interacting with your animals

I regularly hear from animal clients who share that they wish their humans would be more present with them.  As being the opposite of swiss cheese. Because they notice when your attention wanders or when you are struggling to be in the now with them on walks, during grooming and bath time and at mealtimes. They feel it deeply. Some animals have shared it stresses them out when their humans are checked out so much. I wrote a post about it that you can read by following this link

As hard as it can feel to overwrite the conditioning that you shouldn’t take up space, time with your beloved animal friends can feel the safest, the most comfortable place to practice… with the bonus of instant gratification. Because when you are here in the now, you are present to give and receive the unconditional love that flows as a result of your bond with your animal friends. (if you don’t have animal friends right now, that’s okay try this same thing while hanging out in nature.)

2. When you’re doing inner work

At the core of so much of the intuitive, witchy stuff we do is building ourselves back up. We pull oracle cards to help reconnect with our witchy center, we get massages to feel our bodies again, and we do our inner work to transform all our outgrown beliefs and baggage so we feel clear again.

It’s one of the safest sacred places to practice being full of who you are. The next time you reach for an oracle card, or pick up your journal to write about your feelings, or sit to meditate, I’d love to encourage you to take a moment and call all of yourself back home to your body. Call on the aspects of you that are wandering in the past or future and pull them close to your heart-center. Call back the energy you’ve been giving to other people. Call home your energy that you've been hiding in order to take up less space. Ground and center your whole being into your core in the here and now and give your whole self permission to be FULL of yourself (in the very best way possible)

3. When you’re connecting with your spirit guides

It can feel so empowering to connect with your guides in a Soul Work journey. It’s a time to put the weight of it all down and experience their unconditional love and support, it’s nourishing, replenishing and powerful.

In the years of teaching journey classes, forgetting to be “full of yourself” is one of the biggest challenges I see students struggle with. As a result they become a little star struck in the presence of their guides. They forget to ask their guides questions and forget to ask follow-up questions if they aren’t fully understanding what they sense or hear from them leaving journeys feeling incomplete and their connection with their guides not feeling as strong as it could be.

I believe that being full of our-self it’s a way of honoring our guides to the fullest. To be as fully embodied and present with them as possible is a sign of respect. It’s a way of saying, “you matter so much to me, I’m gonna put down all the distractions and fill myself up with my presence and feel your presence as much as possible.”

AND… I get it’s not always easy to give yourself permission to be so full of your own presence in the presence of big energies like your guides… Perhaps the next time you connect with your guides, ask them clearly and directly for support to help you fill yourself up with your own good energy so you’re able to connect and engage with them more fully.

Thanks for tuning in with me today,

XO

Joanna
