An integration technique to help organize your inner world
Listen along here…
Hello Dear Intuitive One
I’d love to tell you about a life changing experience that dramatically shaped my relationship with intuition and spirituality.
Years ago I was at a conference. Four days of intense immersion training and workshops… all focused on learning about Nature Spirits, Weather Beings and The Fay. I dove in, and took every workshop I could squeeze into the long weekend. During meals I sat with new friends as we eagerly chatted about what we were learning and swapped stories and experiences.
By the last day I felt slammed. I was foggy, fried and felt as though I wouldn’t be able to take in even one ounce more of new information. So instead of pressing on and walking to the next class, I wandered over to the outdoor kitchen and asked them to put me to work. They pointed me to a long table stacked with industrial-sized mixing bowls, pots, pans and cooking utensils that was in desperate need of organizing after being used to cook three meals a day for hundreds of people for the past several days.
And it was just what I needed. As I was putting the giant mess back in order, I could feel my inner world becoming clearer. My inner fog left. I felt clear and energized. And all of the information and learning I had experienced that had been stretching me beyond what I could bear started to just snap into place and I felt it integrating within me with each tower of bowls I stacked and each heap of cooking utensils I organized.
As I put things in order in the world outside of me, things begin to feel organized in my inner world too.
Integration in our spiritual growth is the act of consolidating old and new within ourselves so everything is in its proper place. Then we can feel cohesive and balanced.
And integration is a vital piece to this work…
Because this work changes us. It empowers and transforms us.
Like that heart-opening validation that comes with finally hearing what your animal friends have to share voiced out loud in an animal communication session and knowing in your gut you’ve been picking up the same thing from them….
Or the grounding clarity and bone deep reconnection with your soul’s knowing that occurs following a powerful 1:1shamanic soul work session….
This work expands our hearts and transforms how we see, feel and sense the world around us. And with expansion, with transformation, it’s vitally important to take the time to digest it - to integrate it.
Let’s tune in….
I’d love to give you a little homework….
If you’ve been feeling over-full I’d love to share one of my favorite integration practices to help you put your world back in order (Spring Cleaning Style).
It has two parts.
The first part is to avoid more engagement with whatever it is that has you feeling overstimulated. If you’ve been binging on intuitive, witchy and spiritual stuff lately, put it all down…. Tuck your journal and crystals into a drawer for the next few days and give yourself a pass on doing ANY meditation or deep inner work for a few days.
The second part is to get to work sorting. Anything will do... Legos, your sock drawer or that messy pile of mismatched Tupperware lids in the cupboard you avoid opening.
The goal is to give yourself time to take the disorder and put it into order.
While you do this, put on some playful music or listen to a children’s story on an app like Insight Timer to give your conscious mind a calming activity while your subconscious goes to work organizing your inner world.
Happy Integrating!
Thanks for tuning in with me today,
XO
Joanna
